St. Lucian Carnival, is one of the Caribbean's greatest extravaganzas! The highlight of the celebration takes place during July and ending on the third Tuesday in the month.
There are endless parties, also beauty contests, kiddie's parades, calypso, soca, and steel pan competitions. Ending with a grand parade of dazzling and colorful costumes throughout the streets of Castries on third Monday and Tuesday in July.
Other highlights of the festival includes the wonderful J'Ouvert celebration is a wild affair involving loud pulsating soca and calypso music, dancing in the streets of Gros Islet or Castries. Revelers during J'Ouvert are free to wear whatever they wish, also have choice of joining the various J'Ouvert bands, and party till sun up the first day of Carnival.
With many great acts, parties and competitions spread across the dates, St. Lucia Carnival is simply a must.
