Description of PP Friend

Searching for air traffic control App for Mode-S receiver ?
PP Friend is the one and only Android App for your Mode-S receiver and COAA PlanePlotter software, or Kinetic Avionics SBS-1 or SBS-3 with Basestation software.
This App shows real time planes list with lot of infos (icao callsign, registration, flight number, geographical position, speed, altitude, course, vertical rate, type, country, route, operator, squawk etc., based on data transmitted by plane ADS-B transponder and received by your Mode-S receiver) with country flags and plane sihlouettes or operator logo.
Much fun with ADS-B and ACARS !
Planespotting is now easy for any planespotter.
Real time map is also available !
A Mode-S receiver and PlanePlotter (or Basestation) software ARE ABSOLUTELY REQUIRED
Continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life.

If you build Mode-S receivers, I will be happy to add your receiver to the supported receivers, please contact me.
As always, I will be happy to listen to your suggestions for adding features to the App.

Good support from developer, I voted earlier 3 stars as it wasn't working for me, got in touch with developer who worked with me on troubleshooting and released an update to fix Android 8 issues Now I can 5 vote stars specially for the support

Finally a way of seeing the data from my PlanePlotter machine (that uses a RTL 1090 dongle) including the "positionless" aircraft that are too low for others to receive and place on PlanePlotter Mobile's map. I have even managed to setup so I can use while away from home by entering my home IP address and set my Routers Port Forwarding for port 30003 to direct to my PP machine. The only problem is with a Dynamic IP I could have to change it every now and then if my IP changes. Roberto provides excellent support - and even though he was on holiday he pushed out a couple of updates to fix some issues I had.

This doesn't show most of the planes on my planeplotter, doesn't refresh the plane data enough, and lacks a lot of the features the iOS version has.
