Description of E&M Connect

EMSD Mobile Apps《E&M Connect》provided updated EMSD news and e-services, including:
1. Energy Saver: To use camera to capture reference number of energy label by OCR to show 7 Mandatory Energy Efficiency Labelling Scheme household products (exclude compact fluorescent lamps) energy performance, projected annual electricity bills and recommendations of more energy efficient (same type) products for comparison.
2. E&M Finder: To use current location of smart phone to show the nearby Registered Electrical Contractors and LPG Cylinder Distributors in Google Map and dial in the service providers to request services.
3. E&M Trade App: Sub-application to provide safety alert, standard update, Continuous Professional Development course information for Registered Electrical Workers, Registered Lifts/Escalators Engineers/Workers, etc. User can sign up mobile app account and process verification to bind the registrations so as to enroll CPD course, record CPD hours and receive push notification on expiry reminder.
4. Scan Fast: Using mobile phone camera and Optical Character Recognition (OCR) function to capture the image of registration cards of the Registered Gas Installers (RGI) to show the related RGI information and registered classes.
