Description of Port Detective

Port Detective is a network port scanning tool designed to detect open ports on hosts on the local network. The port scanning algorithm is capable of scanning all 65535 ports in under a minute or two.
This application also comes with a Port Encyclopedia, enabling the user to quickly look up what a certain port's function is. A local database is stored on the phone for defining ports, however there is also an option to look it up online for the most recent information.
Rebuilt for the latest Android OS, and relaunched March 25, 2019

  Couldn't resolve any IP addresses that I can reach through a browser or any other app. Doesn't allow you to type in a domain name.

  Runs fine on my Nexus 7. It does indeed restart a scan each time the screen orientation changes. Surely this can be fixed in the next release?

  I ran several full scans of one system and every time the app got to certain ports it would stop scanning with a "Connection timed out" message. There was no indication which port caused the failure so rescanning gets to be tedious. I'll wait till the next update before I totally give up on this app. Galaxy s3 unrooted.
