Q:What is Please Call Me?
A:In South Africa our mobile networks provide a way of sending a free text message requesting a person to call them back. The message will be converted into your phone ringing, giving you the option to call the other person. This way you will never miss a Please Call Me again.
Q:Who would use Please Call Me?
A:Please Call Me text messages are often not seen or only noticed a while after they are sent. Please Call Me takes care of this problem.
Q:Does Please Call Me use data or airtime?
A:This app does not use any airtime or data with the exception of you actually calling the person (as normal).
Q:How does Please Call Me work?
A:When a text message arrives, the app will intercept the message to see if it is a please call me text message. The app will also check so see if the person is in your phone book or in your selected contact list. Once this is done, the app will mimic the call ringing allowing you to call them back.
Q:Does that mean anyone can make my phone ring?
A:You can restrict the incoming text message to people in your contact list or selected few from your contact list.
Q:Does this app always run in the background?
A:No. This app is triggered by the incoming text message. So the app will not drain your battery.
Q:How can I set Please Call Me to vibrate?
A:Please Call Me obeys your phone settings. So if your phone is set to vibrate on an incoming call, Please Call Me will likewise vibrate. The same applies to switching your phone to silent/mute.
