Pop Smoke will allow veterans to communicate with one another on a raw, real, heartfelt level. It is a tool to help the veteran reestablish the squad mentality they were accustomed to in the military. The support network and reliability that the squad/ fire team provides is unmatched anywhere in the world. The comradery and trust the members of the squad have with one another are second to none and provide the foundation necessary to be successful in the most difficult of situations. OPS seeks to reestablish these squads and fireteams outside of the military to help veterans thrive after serving their country. It gives them a user-friendly platform to communicate with each other when they are struggling to cope with their PTSD. This program has been used in QMissions with great success.
So how does it work? Well to answer that question we must first understand what a squad and fireteam work. Lets start with the Fireteam, the smallest and most efficient unit in the Military. The concept of the fireteam is based on the need for tactical flexibility in infantry operations. A fireteam is capable of autonomous operations as part of a larger unit. Successful fireteam employment relies on quality small unit training for soldiers, experience of fireteam members operating together, sufficient communications infrastructure, and a quality non-commissioned officer corps to provide tactical leadership for the team. The creation of effective fireteams is seen as essential for creating an effective professional military as they serve as a primary group. Psychological studies by the United States Army have indicated that the willingness to fight is more heavily influenced by the desire to avoid failing to support other members of the fireteam than by abstract concepts. Historically, nations with effective fireteam organization have had significantly better performance from their infantry units in combat than those limited to operations by larger units. So basically the squad preforms because the individual members driving motivation is to not let down the squad.
The squad is life. This concept of the fireteam and squad is the life blood of each of its members. Each member is an iatrical part of the success of the unit. It has shown that the bonds in the squad are stronger than found anywhere else in the world. Something so engrained, something so fundamental something so necessary to the warfighter fades to obscurity as soon as we get our DD-214. We at QMissions seek to revitalize these units and retrofit them to civilian life. The Squad, No longer to survive the rigors of combat but to thrive after the wounds of war. Our enemy no longer tangible, no longer a living breathing entity we can destroy, we must challenge our concept of warfighting to battle an unseen enemy who lives inside of us. A dark monster deep inside each one of us who seeks to drag us to the depths of despair, isolate us so we can be devoured by the relentless memories that haunt our souls daily.
By bringing these thoughts and images to the light, by sharing them with our brothers it removes the power those experiences have over us. It removes us from the isolation that those thoughts and memories seek to impose on us. Our brothers understand, they experience them too. We can again work as an effective team. We can lift up the brothers who are down because before to long they will be lifting us up. Together we grow stronger. in our relationships, in our faith and in our healing.
The Nuts and Bolts Poppin Smoke will send an alert to all members of the squad. The members will answer the alert and it will open a group chat feature with all members. Popping smoke will also turn on the initiating members GPS locater giving the other squad members their real time location.
