The user can talk with another user just using the smartphone wifi. It connects the smartphone with another user of Talk On Wheel without using data connection with the provider and having a higher range than using a bluetooth communication. After the connection, the user can turn off the screen to save battery. The app is running in the background until the user decides to stop it.
