Dont see any difference from the free and paid version. There's no watchdog settings to set as per the instruction manual. It would be great if smartphone would sound alarm in case safety monitor status changes.

Edit: new update mitigates issue! Would rate 5 stars if it were not for the fact that it needs an internet connection to verify its licence. Imagine being in the middle of nowhere under a dark sky and you can't use GNS because the app won't launch because it cannot contact Google licensing servers...

The app has promise and seems to work for a while, but drops to its first screen and needs to be told to monitor again without any warning after prolonged screen off time (aka sleeping). This despite explicitly disabling battery optimization for the app. Seems like the app should do something to tell the OS to keep it alive. Tried it on a OnePlus 5 and an older Nexus 5X running latest android.

It is expensive. However, it works really well. It ensures I don't waste a night with my scope taking bad pictures. Also, if clouds appear, I'm more confident I'll be warned before rain starts. All in all, it delivers more value than many of the accessories I've bought over the years.
