Description of GPX Logger (Ad Free)

A simple GPS data logger, designed to be robust and battery efficient.
Intended to be hands off, its ideal for recording your latest walk, run or cycle.
GPX Logger records files onto your memory card in the GPX file format, which can be readily imported into most mapping software.
As it only requires low end hardware it can be used in more adventurous projects such as model plane or rocket black box recording.
If this app is quitting unexpectedly your device's power management may be shutting it down - you can usually check this in the device settings menu.

The following permissions are used:
Location - Needed to get your current location.
Internet - Required to download map data.
Photos / Media / Files & Storage - Allows you to save your tracks to a file.
Run at startup - Optionally start the app when you start your device.

  I had the free version for the longest time and it was bullet proof. I upgraded my phone and was forced to get the add free version. Now it only saves part of a track and will not always open in Basecamp. DISAPPOINTED.

  when I had the free version it worked much better than the ad-free version. When I try to log attract I get a piece of the track but it stops for some reason and doesn't show the full track. I don't know why this is happening. It didn't seem to happen in the free version. I deleted the free version and have only this one now. I wish I still had the free version I probably will download it again or will download another app instead of this one.

  Does one thing and does it best! Thanks for this app. Extra pros: 1] doesn't consume much battery! (in fact, for me it's around 5x more power-efficient compared to the "sports tracking" apps) 2] the gpx files are readily available on SD card, no "login required to save" B.S. 3] if logging is interrupted (e.g. phone goes out of power or reboots unexpectedly), the half-complete GPS files can be recovered easily by hand. Feature suggestion: A view that shows the saved GPX files together with some simple sortable stats (date, starting position, length, climb, time...) and allows them to be shared (e.g. mailed) easily.
