Description of Vitamin-D Thirty

Using this application may reduce your risk of high cholesterol and the need to spend money on cholesterol lowering drugs.
Your skin uses UVB rays from the sun to convert cholesterol to vitamin D. However, UVB rays only penetrate the earths atmosphere when the sun has an altitude angle that is greater than 50 degrees. This application uses longitude, latitude, time of day and day of the year to compute the altitude angle of the sun. This application also sends the user a notification when the altitude angle of the sun reaches 50 degrees and its maximum angle.
During the winter months when the sun does not reach an altitude angle of 50 degrees, no notifications are sent.

Nice simple app without nagging, stupid ads etc. Seems to have a little trouble with daylight savings time though - switchover was last night and the time window for being outside moved two hours.

Pretty basic app, as it's just one screen. It tells you whether or not you will be able to get sufficient vitamin D from the sun in your current location. On its own this is not that useful. It would be good to know how long you would have to be in the sun as well in order to get adequate exposure.

Times are incorrect. I checked with another app and an online azimuth calculator. Problem seems to be the app doesn't allow for local time eg DST. The display is fairly dull, being mainly a crude image. Would have been better without.
