Towers are stored in Database.
See Cell IDs, Signal Strength and GPS location.
Please note:
In most cases precision of estimated cell position is better for sites with 3 cells detected. If you see only one cell, this is not cell position, this is cell serving area center.

  Uninstalled. Excessive permissions that have no relevance to app operations. UPDATE To Vitaly: Yes, plenty of them out there clown. If you would spend half as much time working on your meager data collection app as to belittling potential buyers, you might make a elementary school programmer one day. Look at your reviews, pisspoor for an app.

  Good app, but still see adds after payment.

  Only shows one tower. Won't let select which service to show towers. Ads deceptively located on top of where Android back button is, making it difficult to exit app without clicking on an ad.

  I'll revise my rating if it can locate a cell tower. What i can see so far is my location instead. I have a paid version of the app.
