The game doesn't register its own loss. When you give it a word it doesn't know, it just comes to a dead end and doesn't give you the letters you need in any of the clusters. If I were to make one critical change, it would be to have the game admit when it can't figure out a word and allow the user to enter the word for a check. Previously unknown words could then be added to the dictionary and, maybe, when a user stumps the wizard, they get a medal or something.
