درباره برنامه:
شب یَلدا یا شب چلّه یکی از کهن‌ترین جشن‌های ایرانی است. در این جشن، طی شدن بلندترین شب سال و به دنبال آن بلندتر شدن طول روزها در نیم‌کرهٔ شمالی، که مصادف با انقلاب زمستانی است، گرامی داشته می‌شود. نام ديگر این شب «چِلّه» ميباشد، زیرا برگزاری این جشن، یک آیین ایرانی‌است.
یلدا به زمان بین غروب آفتاب از ۳۰ آذر (آخرین روز پاییز) تا طلوع آفتاب در اول ماه دی (نخستین روز زمستان) گفته می‌شود. خانواده‌های ایرانی در شب یلدا، معمولاً شامی فاخر و همچنین انواع میوه‌ها و رایج‌تر از همه هندوانه و انار را مهیا و دور هم سرو می‌کنند. پس از سرو تنقلات، شاهنامه‌خوانی، قصه‌گویی بزرگان خانواده برای دیگر اعضای فامیل و همچنین فال‌گیری با دیوان حافظ رایج است.

About the program:
Yalda Night or Chala Night is one of the oldest Iranian celebrations. The celebration celebrates the longest night of the year followed by the prolongation of days in the Northern Hemisphere, which coincides with the winter revolution. Another name for this evening is "Chala" because the celebration is an Iranian ritual.
Yalda refers to the time between sunset from December 5 (the last day of autumn) to sunrise on December 1 (the first day of winter). At Yalda Night, Iranian families usually serve fine dinners as well as all kinds of fruits and most commonly watermelons and pomegranates. After serving snacks, Shahnameh reading, family storytelling is common to other family members as well as courtesy of the Hafiz Divan.
