The most noticeable and classic sign of anime is "big eyes" - sometimes disproportionately large eyes in characters. This is due to a number of points.
Firstly, originally large "glowing" eyes with long eyelashes were drawn exclusively from the characters of the Shoedge-manga, since in the East such is considered
very beautiful. Secondly, the eyes in Japanese animation are the central object of the face (in American modern animation, on the contrary, such an object is considered to be the mouth)
and signify the character's readiness for perception and contemplation. The more the character's eyes, the lower his abilities, so "big eyes" mean youth, naivety,
credulity, openness.
