The applications has an algorithm that separate the objects from the background, count and show in different colors the contours of the objects counted.
It was tested with good performance in the cases:
Pellets, dash's, coins, petri plates, balls, screws, nuts, washers, Holes,
etc.
The app see the brightness differences between the objects and can be used in a lot of real situations but due photo quality and analysis is not 100% efficient.
Some photos will take some time to process for the smartphone.
There are two types of counting algorithm. “Similar Size Obj” will count objects separately even if it is touching each other but the objects need
to have similar sizes. “Any Size Obj (No touching Obj)” will count objects separated, hence touching objects will be counted as one. Filters like noise reduction, invert and adaptive threshold are available.
