Description of Space Grunts 2

Every game you play is uniquely generated from building blocks. No two levels are the same, no two game sessions are the same. As you progress through the levels you get to collect items for your inventory : weapons, shields, and dozens of other type items. Each item in your inventory is a card in your deck.
Don't want certain cards? don't pick them up! That's how you build your deck in this game: as you go.
When you encounter aliens, you will engage with them in a card-battle: Either you or the alien will choose the first card, depending on who attacks who. And then the other picks his card. Defeat the alien, and move on to the next! Card battles are swift, and to the point.
The game will randomly generate events, alternate routes and decide what effects plant-spores have on you or the aliens. Like I said: no two games will be the same!

It's faster than the original & you can play in portrait view. There's an annoying pause between yourself & enemies playing cards against each other that gets irritating. The randomness is still there but things like random comets should be taken out because they ruin the game. Environments repeat after a few playthroughs. You have to run into enemies for combat so no more ranged combat. The original imo is a better game with more depth & exploration. Only buy when on sale.

I like how it's faster than the original & has portrait view. But the card thing seems kind of forced & pointless. You pick them up just like you would pick up ammo in the original game. Except here, you have no choice but to run directly into an enemy to attack them. There's lots of random events but I noticed every time I play the same rooms & layouts repeating over and over. Plus the game constantly crashes. Had so many good runs ruined because of this. The original is still better.

I like that it's faster than the original & has portrait view. I've noticed the same locations & rooms start to repeat every time I play now. It's just not random enough. While the level layouts seem to repeat, the randomness of events & such as are nice just like the original. Randomly crashes though. You may play a certain card against a certain enemy & it just crashes. Had great runs ruined by this & there's no rhyme or reason to it. Still think the first game is better overall.

You move around faster than the original but when you play your cards there's a noticeable delay which slows everything down & makes it become tedious. I've noticed the same areas repeating over & over too. The same rooms with the same layouts, the same cards & etc. repeat each playthrough. Not good for a roguelike. I love that there's random weather events, hidden areas & hidden levels. But it's just not as good as the original. The cards really hamper the experience compared to the original.

Not a huge fan of the card concept since it's too random. Running out of cards or not having the right ones leaves you helpless. I miss the ranged combat from the original. I do love that this allows portrait view though. And I love all the weird things happening in this game on any given run. I do wish there were an option to speed the gameplay up though since navigating & constantly being stopped by pointless enemies becomes tedious. I still like the original better & want a proper sequel.

More planet roaming than part 1. Better tactical battles but dislike you can't aim/fire anymore. Rather had cards as equipment that needs to be collected and wears out when player fires/moves X times. Manual aiming/firing as in part 1 would still be required.
