Description of Lead Soldier

Most of Europe has been under German occupation for more than two years. On the British Isles, allied forces are building up at a furious pace in preparation for the liberation of the continent. The recent victories in North Africa and the progress of the red army on the eastern front are cause for optimism, but time is running out. German scientists are engineering weapons of unprecedented destructive power. Recently on a small archipelago off the coast of France, local partisans have witnessed the testing of giant rockets. It is believed that just one such rocket carrying a new revolutionary explosive could annihilate a city the size of London. With the invasion of Europe still several months away, allied commanders have chosen you to lead a daring operation code named "Lead Soldier". The purpose of this mission is to disrupt the development of the giant rocket, and if possible capture the German scientists and their technology.

Lead Soldier was one of the first PC games I ever played. This game consumed many hours as I tried to navigate the levels and complete the objectives. That being said, I have greatly enjoyed the trip down memory lane that this app has provided. The controls, while far from being cutting edge, are sufficient, and seem an improvement over the original. The speed is slow, and I would like to see some sort of speed settings (if memory serves, the original had some sort of speed setting.) The tutorial is a nice touch as well, being a bit more simple than before, in addition to being relatively simple to complete. I would prefer to see more levels, however I also understand that many of the original levels would be quite difficult to transfer over to this platform. Congratulations, developers on a true classic.
