[Klondike Solitaire SETUP]
Like all other solitaire games, Klondike uses one 52-card deck. The setup table consists of several different types of piles:
- The Tableau: 7 columns (piles) that make up the main table with card faces up.
- The Foundations: 4 piles on which a whole suit or sequence must be built up. In Klondike Solitaire the four aces (hearts, diamonds, spades, and clubs) are the bottom card of the foundations.
- The Stock (or “Hand”) Pile: The remaining cards from which additional cards are brought into play depending on the settings. For example, if you are playing Klondike turn one, each time you tap the pile it will open 1 card and if you choose turn 3 - each time three cards will be drawn.
- Waste (or “The Talon”) Pile: Cards from the stockpile that have no place in the tableau or on foundations are laid face up in the waste pile.
[Klondike Solitaire RULES]
The main goal in this card game is to build the whole pack onto the 4 foundations at the top of the screen. If it is done, then the Solitaire game is won. To make it happen, you should use the 7 tableau piles where the cards are played in descending order and alternating colors. For example, 10 spades could be moved on either Jack of hearts or Jack of diamonds. 7 diamonds could be moved to 8 of spades or 8 of clubs and so on.
The rank of cards in the Klondike Solitaire game is: K, Q, J, 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, A, ranked from the highest (K) to the lowest (A) and your objective is to release and play into position certain cards to build up each foundation, in sequence and in the suit, from the ace through the king.
