Register with just your cellphone number and South African ID number and you will be able to consult a registered healthcare professional using text, voice or video.
Using Kena Health is easy. After selecting what you would like to consult a clinician about and answering a few simple questions about your condition, you will be put in touch with a professional nurse who will guide you through the whole process, including talking to a doctor. If you would like to talk to a mental health professional, you will be put in touch with one directly.
Our clinicians can address a wide range of common health complaints, and, if you need additional help, they can refer you to the right doctor for your needs. Whether you need medical advice, a prescription, sick note or referral to a specialist, Kena Health will help you start your healthcare journey.

**Medical advice**
- Get advice from a nurse or doctor about symptoms or a condition that you, your child or a loved one may be experiencing.
- Review the results of screenings and other laboratory tests with a doctor so that you can understand exactly what they mean.
- Get advice about how to manage or adjust your medication if you are experiencing side effects.
**Medical diagnosis and treatment plans**
Kena’s clinicians can diagnose and offer prescriptions and treatment plans for a wide range of health conditions, including:

**Medical emergencies**
In the case of medical emergencies, we are not able to provide the right level of care through text, voice or video, and in the case of an emergency it is important that patients call an ambulance or go immediately to their nearest hospital for treatment.
Medical emergencies include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Chest pain or sudden breathlessness without known causes
- Major or moderate trauma
- Psychosis.
Other conditions requiring specialised care that cannot be provided through Kena include:
- Any conditions requiring a prescription of Schedule 5 medication or above
- Hormone fertility treatment
- Termination of pregnancy
- Initiation of insulin.
Clinicians are available on Kena during the following times:
Monday - Friday: 8:00 - 20:00
Saturdays: 8:00 - 17:00
Sundays and Public Holidays: 8:00 - 14:00
All clinical information is private and stored securely.
