Opis
In order to give effect to the provisions of Motor Vehicles Act, 1988 & Rules made there under, Motor Vehicle Department has been setup as per Section 213 of Motor Vehicle Act 1988 in the State of Maharashtra.

Prompt & Citizen friendly services relating to Motor Vehicles
MISSION
To aim for stricter compliance of provisions of Motor Vehicle Act & Rules there under
To establish user friendly front end facilities for visiting public
To strengthen the Department by providing equipments, manpower & Training
To simplify the taxation of vehicles
To create effective grievance redressed mechanism
FUNCTIONS
To enforce the statutory provisions of Motor Vehicles Act & Rules made there under
To collect revenue in the form of Taxes & fees from Motor Vehicles as per the provisions of the lawectives and Functions of the Department
