Battery level is the quickest way to know the current battery charge level without loosing memory nor slowing down the processor.
Android's status bar icon indicating the current battery state is very small and it's not easy to really understand how much remaining capacity you still have.
Battery level is not a second status bar icon, it's not a widget and it will not install services or anything that will run in the background consuming your phone resources.
Battery level is a small app that, when run, will quickly display a toast notification containing the same information you could find navigating through Menu, Settings, About phone, Status, Battery level.
