A day is 24 hours, then 60 minutes - silly numbers. Break the day into 1000 "milliday" units. Intuitively see where your time is going.
Slept from midnight(0 millidays or 0 md) til 8am(333 md)? A third of your day.
Eat lunch at noon(500 md)? Half the day left.
Finish at 550 md? That took 50 md, 5% of your day.
990 md? 10 md or 1% of the day left.
