Wi-Share is an application that focuses in the sharing of WiFi networks.
Sharing means giving a person the ability to connect to a WiFi network. Shares can limit bandwidth* and traffic to whom accesses it. It is also possible to limit the number of users connected simultaneously.
The best part? When people connect to your network they don’t have access to the password, as Wi-Share automates the authentication without the need of manual input.
One usage example is when a friend stops by your place and asks for WiFi access. With Wi-Share you can just share the network by SMS, being the connection automatically established when the link present in the SMS is opened with Wi-Share.
SMS sharing is not permanent and is only good for momentary access. If you wish to permanently grant access to your friend, simply provide his Wi-Share registered email when sharing.
As you start to share and receive shares from your friends, Wi-Share will know when a network is nearby and will connect to it automatically. When multiple networks are available, Wi-Share picks the one with the best performance!
After sharing a network you can limit the bandwidth, traffic and amount of users connected to said network. This helps you to manage the network’s performance to taste.
If you are into crowdsourcing for free Wi-Fi access, you can share your networks with all the users of Wi-Share while still possible to limit bandwidth*, traffic and number of connected users.
In order to keep up to date, make sure you sync once in awhile to load networks nearby.
* Bandwidth limiting only works on rooted phones
