Each player has 4 checkers of the same color (yellow, red, green or blue) that are initially in an area called the House on the board. It is composed of 68 numbered squares, 12 of which are safety squares (marked by a circle), on which all the checkers can move. In addition, each player has 7 squares of the same color as his or her checkers, and an end square (a larger square in the center of the board) on which only their own checkers can move.
