Running parallel to US Highway 321, this 10-mile trail in Townsend, located in the heart of Tuckaleechee Cove, is ideal for walking or biking.
This free app features an audio and GPS guided tour “Shadows of the Past” trail along with social media and web links for the Smoky Mountains.
During your ride, be sure to stop by the Townsend Visitors Center for maps, guides, and other information. Take a break in the rocking chairs on the porch and browse in the shop for Smoky Mountain books, music, clothing, jams and jellies, and more. Sales benefit Great Smoky Mountains National Park.
Location: Runs parallel to Hwy. US 321 in Townsend, with road signs denoting beginning and end: Townsend Visitors Center on trail.
Length: Approximately 9 miles with 3 underpasses.
