A Glimpse Of Light in “The Morning of the World”
The story took place in Bali, a beautiful lush green paradise island known as “The Morning of the World.” The Balinese believe that the island is blessed by the rain, every mountain spring and waterfall has its own temple to thank the water. The holy water from these temples and the countless tropical flowers nourished by the rains make up the offerings that are presented to the Gods daily in every temple and home in Bali.
Located on the southernmost tip of Bali Island, Uluwatu is one of Bali’s Kayangan Jagat (places to worship God). It has one of the most famous temple located high on a cliff called Pura Luhur, and guards Bali from evil spirits. Dedicated to the spirits of the sea, Pura Luhur has an architectural wonder in black coral rock, beautifully designed with spectacular views.
As many have said, the Balinese are indeed a generous and genuinely warm. There is no word for stranger; tourists are called “tamu”, literally a guest to one’s home or to one’s village. Surrounded by magnificent sanctuary and warmest people, for once in a lifetime, experience living in the strikingly beautiful piece of paradise on earth.
