A geometric progression is a sequence of numbers where each term after the first is found by multiplying the previous one by a fixed, non-zero number called the common ratio. An example a geometric progression would be 2 / 8 / 32 / 128 / 512 / 2048 / 8192 ... where the common ratio is 4.
