Pandit Dhruvdutt Vyas is the Rajguru- Rajjyotishi- Rajyopadhyaya of the Royal Family of Baroda - the Gaekwad Family (Maharaja of Baroda). He is the 4th generation, serving the Royal Family. His great grandfather, Pandit Shivdutt Vyas,` was invited to Baroda in the year 1881 as an examiner for the `Shravanmas Dakshina Pariksha' organized by the Baroda State.
