The font is always a key element of the User Interface which impacts user's first impression of the app. It is believed that choice and attractiveness of the font makes the application visually appealing. The beauty, aesthetics and size of a font are one of the key factors. The choice of font matters a lot because it makes the text more natural to read and fairly easy to understand.

Until now, many potential app developers and Urdu content producers might have hesitated before publishing it, for several reasons. For example, there were no Urdu Fonts available according to the needs of modern web publishing and mobile applications. Furthermore, there is the challenge of displaying text in Nastaliq script, Urdu's default writing style but one of the world's most challenging writing styles. Recent progress has resolved several issues faced by community in recent past.

Urdu Font Comparator is designed for Urdu speakers all over the world such as Pakistan, India, UAE, Saudi Arabia, US, UK and Germany where people read Urdu content on Android devices. There was a solid motivation behind this project: To encourage app developers and mobile content producers to start creating content in Urdu and also using the right Urdu Font to achieve better results.
